The Wooden Bowl

I guarantee you will remember the tale of the Wooden Bowl tomorrow, a week from now, a month from now, a year from now.

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year-old grandson.
The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered

The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and
failing sight made eating difficult.
Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor.
When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth.

The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess.
'We must do something about father,' said the son.
'I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor.'

So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner.
There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner.
Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl.

When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone.
Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food.

The four-year-old watched it all in silence.

One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor.
He asked the child sweetly, 'What are you making?'
Just as sweetly, the boy responded,
'Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up.
' The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.

The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done.

That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table.
For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason,
neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.

Every moment that you spend upset, in despair, in anguish, angry, or hurt because of the behavior of anybody else is a moment in which you have given up control of your life.
How old would you be if you didn't know how old you are?
Send out anger and impatience,
and that's what you will get.
Send out love,
and you will get back love.
You can set yourself up to be sick,
or you can choose to be well.

What Should You Do After Having A Wonderful, Relaxing Massage??

DRINK plenty of water after your massage session.
During a massage metabolic waste/toxins are released from soft tissues so water intake will assist your body in removing those toxins from your system. If you don't "flush" toxins out they will stay in....so you have a picture.... you are not going to feel your best. A headache may come and you can feel nauseated.
So.... drink water because after an initial period of feeling like "cocked nudle", people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity which can last for days.
Any soreness that presents itself should fade after 24 to 36 hours and in mean time Epsom Salt bath can be helpful and reason for that is high magnesium content of the Epsom Salt because magnesium promotes the release of lactic acid from the muscle tissue.
Simply dissolve 2-4 cups of Epsom Salt in a full bath of hot water and I like to add few drops of eucalyptus oil (optional)...... lay back, relax and enjoy the soak for at least 20 min. You may apply a cool cloth to your forehead or neck for comfort.
Rinse yourself with cool or lukewarm shower and rest for about at least an hour or just go to bed for good night sleep. Do not forget to drink water or tea at that point.....
I do not recommend drinking iced water ever, especially not after massage because our cooling mechanism is through sweating not icing our stomach and guts and making our body work hard to warm up our insides to our normal body temperature..... my loud thinking!!!

Until next massage.....
May health be with you!
